biography
Tamara McCaughey discovered her passion for photography at the
age of eleven. As her bedroom walls quickly filled with a massive
collage of everything that she wanted to remember, she discovered
that with each picture she not only captured the image, but also
offered her own unique perspective about what she saw.
With a
yearning passion to express her view of the world, she continued
to explore her creativity in high school and on into post secondary
eductation. She attended part time studies at Langara College and
Focal Point in Vancouver, honing the craft and discovering the boundless
creativity of the medium. In search of new and exciting subjects,
she took her first camera with her while traveling to Costa Rica
and Mexico.
Since her return, she has worked on various projects. Her works
have graced the pages of Ripe Magazine and she has created stunning
visual representations of everything from recording acts to weddings,
from live performances to imaginative still lifes.
Tamara specializes in portraiture, fashion and event photography.
Mostly she enjoys taking any kind of picture that contains people.
“There are classically beautiful people, and then there is
everyone else. Everyone holds their own unique qualities, though.
I look to portray what I find to be beautiful in the average person.
There is always something-“
